My Story

On Monday, May 31, 2010, I embarked on a mission to lose weight and to get into the best shape of my life for my wedding. For a long time that mission was a success until life started getting stressful and food became a way to cope with that stress. To make a long story short, the mission fell short before my wedding day was here. And to make things even worse, I stopped eating healthy, exercising, and blogging for over two years. I now have a very beautiful wife and baby boy but my health is still crap. So to turn things around, I am brining back "The Heavy Man" and the "Mission to Healthy."

Day #5 (Part 2) - Challenging Myself

Today was a very productive day with work, capping off a very productive week of work. That is all great but the weekend is here and it is time to relax for a little bit. Actually it is time to get outside because the weather is going to be awesome. Today was the first day since late summer / early fall, of this past year, that it actually hit 70 degrees. To tell you the truth, it was hard to not go outside today with how beautiful it was but work had to come first. And now that Spring is quickly rolling towards us, I am going to challenge myself by taking my cardio workouts outside once again. I do enjoy executing my cardio workouts inside the confines of my new gym but outside is where I belong.

And speaking of challenging myself, I am going to attempt to expand my outdoor activities by adding a few things that I never done before. This was mainly because of my size and health to tell you all the truth. And now that I have lost roughly 107 lbs and I feel great, I want to challenge myself in new ways and to see how far I could push my boundaries. If you have been following this blog for a while, you may know that I play men's softball during the Spring and I also play basketball every Monday & Sunday all year around. I am still going to continue with these activities because I have a lot of fun doing so. However, in addition to those I am going to start playing baseball every Sunday during the Spring, going into the Summer. And while all of this is fun, I am also going to start training for two Triathlons that I will be doing with my cousin in September! Yes my friends, the Heavy Man is going to be kicking it up a level.

I am very excited that I have given myself the opportunity to participate in all of these different types of sports and events. It makes me fill up with pride because I was not in this position a little over 9 months ago. So with this being said, I need help and advise on how to go about training for the Triathlons. I figure that I can continue with my workout routines while training for my future events at the same time. Please comment on this post, Facebook me, Twitter me, or email me ( I am looking for all of the help I can get. Anyway, I will have the details to these events up within the next week, when I get them from my cousin. I am excited about this opportunity and I want to make the best off it.

Well, it is getting late and I have a scrimmage tomorrow at 8am with my baseball team. Until tomorrow and I mean tomorrow. Have a great night! Let's get to the details of the day:
