My Story

On Monday, May 31, 2010, I embarked on a mission to lose weight and to get into the best shape of my life for my wedding. For a long time that mission was a success until life started getting stressful and food became a way to cope with that stress. To make a long story short, the mission fell short before my wedding day was here. And to make things even worse, I stopped eating healthy, exercising, and blogging for over two years. I now have a very beautiful wife and baby boy but my health is still crap. So to turn things around, I am brining back "The Heavy Man" and the "Mission to Healthy."

Day #246 (Mon, Jan 31, 2011) - A Horrible Start

Well my new plan of working out in the morning has gotten off on the wrong foot. It was my goal on Sunday to start a new consistent routine of working out every morning, so I can be working out at the same time everyday. It will also help to free up time after work, so I can do the things I need to do at night. It would also allow me to write my daily post at a decent time, so I could get to bed earlier. But unfortunately, the day didn't go quite as planned.

First, I slept through my earliest alarm that was set for 6:10am. Second, I woke up at 6:30am with a sore back because of my snow sledding adventures over the weekend. So I decided, as I was half awake, to workout after work because I was going to be late if I went to workout at 7am. But little did I know that my work was going to keep me in the office until 10:30pm and of course my gym closes at 11pm. So I didn't even workout at all yesterday (Mon, Jan 31, 2011). And it wasn't like I could go running outside because we were in the middle of our most recent snow storm in NJ as well. I can't believe that I let myself down on the first day of my new consistent routine.

I am determined to build this new routine and make it a habit because I think it will be the best option for me going forward. I think if I could get my workout in every morning, I will be able to shock my body enough to sling shot myself into the 190s. And like I mentioned before, it will also give me some much needed time after work to get other things done. Until the next post, have a great day my friends!

With that being said, let's get to the details of yesterday (Mon, Jan 31, 2011):

Meals of the Day (The Heavy Man - 45 Points)

  1. I know it really sucks when a day just doesn't go the way you want it to! But it's over and today is a new day :) Are you going to the gym today??

  2. Don't beat yourself up over it..Shit happens.
The good thing is..You have a plan. There will be days where you need that extra hour of sleep or you just dont fit it in for whatver reason. But as long as you do fit into your life 90% of the time. Then I would say you are doing the right thing. It is when we dont fit it in what so ever that it becomes a problem. That is my view on it anyways.

  3. You'll make it. I have faith in you, all of Allan's peeps have faith in you. I had to start this week with heading to the gym at 5:15 to be there at 5:30 to be back home for daycare at 7:45 otherwise when my day is done at 7:30 at night there is no way I'm heading to the gym.
Good luck with you plans. It's not easy but you can do it. Keep up the great work.
    Take care and God Bless!!!

  5. Dont be discouraged when times do not work out. You are on a great path, and are looking great so far. Think outside the box when not able to get to the gym. Step up on a chair, hit the stairs anything to get your body moving.

    Take Care and good luck
