Anyway, today was a very eventful day. Of course I went through the same old crap that I always deal with on a day to day basis at work. But my boss did however tell me that I was doing an awesome job and to keep on working hard. That to me, was a very cool thing for him to say. Other then work, I noticed a little difference in how my body was feeling today and I think I can credit it to my new workout routine. I mentioned yesterday that I might have found a solution to breaking through the plateau that I have been stuck at for the last week and a half. A friend of mine, who just so happens to be another personal trainer that I know, told me that I needed to get away from the heavy weight lifting and to focusing more on cardio based routines that incorporated weight lifting and strength training. He said that would be the best way for me to break through the plateau, burn the fat mass, and to build lean muscle. After hearing his compelling explanation, I decided that I would give it a shot.
I can honestly tell you that after executing the first new routine he had given me last night, I felt more energetic and believe it or not, more relaxed. That best part is that I woke up this morning and I weighed in at 254.4 lbs, so I am obviously moving in the right direction. I also noticed that I did not wake up in pain this morning. For the past few weeks, with doing nothing but weight lifting everyday, I was waking up sore not only in my muscles but in my elbow and knee joints as well. I actually felt more energetic this morning and I definitely think I can get used to feeling like that every morning. Even tonight, I feel like I had a great workout. And all I did was cardio for 40 mins, on the elliptical, at different levels. I am happy that I took the time to try and fix the problem. Hopefully I can start seeing positive results not only on the scale but physically as well very soon.
With that being said, let's get to the details of the day:
Meals of the Day (The Heavy Man - 38 Points)
(I am currently following the Weight Watchers Points System)
Breakfast - Egg whites on 2 slices of Weight Watchers whole wheat bread with a little bit of low fat shredded mozzarella cheese = Points 4
Snacks During the Course of the Day - 3 rice cakes = Points 4
Lunch - 1 footlong Chicken Teriyaki sub on whole wheat bread with 2 slices of american cheese, a side of baked potato chips, and a serving of apple slices = Points 19
Dinner - 1 serving of Beef Stroganoff (Weight Watchers) = Points 9
Dessert - 1 Weight Watchers ice cream cone = Points 2
Total Points Eaten Today = 38 Points
Exercise
Today I ran for 40 mins on the elliptical machine at different levels. Tomorrow I will be executing my new total body routine.

ReplyDeleteI am doing great! I actually workout at the Anytime Fitness Gym right next to my house. The great part about it, is that it is open 24/7, so I can workout at anytime and it is great for my crazy schedule.

ReplyDeleteI hate the gym, so I've started doing rebounding at home, and taking my dog for longer and more frequent walks. I'm doing WW too, so it'll be good to support each other.
I'm off to make apple and cinnamon muffins (2 points per muffin...makes 12, but I'm going to make 6 muffins at 4 points each and have them for breakfast). I'm gonna try and be as focused as you have been. I'd like to lose 40lbs, so I've got a way to go!
I'll check in tomorrow.....be good

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. Start off with walks and constant movement and who knows, maybe you will feel like making your way to the gym eventually. But regaurdless, you are taking the steps that are necessary to help you get healthier. Any form of exercise and eating healthy is great.

ReplyDeletePlateaus suck. The only thing I know to do for busting them is to do something different. I can't ecxplain the science behind when we change up the work out or diet that our body re-engages, but it seems to so quicker than just doing the same stuff. Seems you have caught on to that with the helpof a friend,cool.
