My Story

On Monday, May 31, 2010, I embarked on a mission to lose weight and to get into the best shape of my life for my wedding. For a long time that mission was a success until life started getting stressful and food became a way to cope with that stress. To make a long story short, the mission fell short before my wedding day was here. And to make things even worse, I stopped eating healthy, exercising, and blogging for over two years. I now have a very beautiful wife and baby boy but my health is still crap. So to turn things around, I am brining back "The Heavy Man" and the "Mission to Healthy."

Day #34 - Well, Morning It Is!

Yesterday's post was focused on my frustrations for not fully understanding why my weight fluctuates from morning to night and from day to day. I also mentioned some theories yesterday that I have heard in the past pertaining to why weight fluctuates but I had to know how much of that was true. So today, I conducted some research and I found some answers to back up my speculations pertaining to the concerns I had in my Day #33 post.

I had found out that it is true a person's body weight can vary at different parts of the day as well as from day to day. This fluctuation in weight is due to food and water consumption during the day. It can also be due to muscle gain as well. Also, I found some info on several websites that explained a similar message that I have been mentioning for the past few days now, "Your own perception can be the most valuable tool to help you track your weight control progress. If you physically feel better and your clothes are feeling lose then you are doing your weight loss program correctly." WOW..... remember what I said a few posts ago, "Your Clothes Don't Lie." It always feels great when you can find answers and advice while researching to solve an issue.

I also asked the question yesterday, "When is the best time to weigh yourself?" Out of the responses that I received back, a majority of everyone had said that, weighing yourself first thing in the morning after you go to the bathroom is the best time. I also wanted to research this topic a little bit more and every website I found said the same thing. It is also important to weigh yourself at the same time during the day, consistency is the key. So, from this point on, I will be weighing myself every morning at the same time, before I go to the gym to workout. I want to stay as accurate as I possibly can.

Tomorrow, I will be attending a family birthday party / 4th of July BBQ. There is sure to be tons of food at this event. I will let everyone know how I make out dealing with all of the temptations that I encounter during the day. Wish me luck!!

With that being said, let's get to the details of the day:
