My Story

On Monday, May 31, 2010, I embarked on a mission to lose weight and to get into the best shape of my life for my wedding. For a long time that mission was a success until life started getting stressful and food became a way to cope with that stress. To make a long story short, the mission fell short before my wedding day was here. And to make things even worse, I stopped eating healthy, exercising, and blogging for over two years. I now have a very beautiful wife and baby boy but my health is still crap. So to turn things around, I am brining back "The Heavy Man" and the "Mission to Healthy."

Day #13 - Travel Series Part 1b

I almost forget, some times, how wonderful it is being outside. I am cooped up in an office behind a desk for a good part of 6 days a week.  I arrive at work around 9:30am everyday and depart work at around 7:30 - 8:00pm.  By the time I get home it is almost 9pm at night. Once I am home, I eat dinner, workout, write my blog, and then go to sleep. Then I wake up in the morning and do the whole thing all over again. That is why working these special events every once and a while, on the weekends, is a really nice change of pace from the office lifestyle. I am able to get out side and run around. It really gets the blood pumping and the metabolism going.

I also believe that is it good to make some time for yourself, to relax, and to get your mind off everything that may cause stress in your life. It is important to not get totally wrapped up on any one thing that will cause you to neglect yourself or your health.  The one mistake I used to make when I took some time off for myself, was that I sat around watching TV and eating junk food. I suggest that when you do make time for yourself, you get out of your house, do something that involves you moving around. Not only should you exercise your body but you should exercise your mind as well. Clearing your mind of stress and anything distracting is also a great way of staying on the right path towards any goals you might have.

I am 13 days into my mission so far, and I have NOT strayed from the path yet. I continue to eat healthy and to exercise properly. Even when I am traveling, I take the correct steps in preparing my meals and keep everything fresh in my cooler. I also seem to be getting enough exercises by constantly moving during the day. The Travel Series Part 1b was a success today. I only have one more day of traveling and then it is back to my normal routine come Monday.

With that being said, let's get to the details of the day:

Meals of the day (The Heavy Man = 42 Points)
(For anyone who has just started following this blog, I am currently following the Weight Watchers points system. That is why I have point totals at the end of every meal).

Late Afternoon - 6" turkey sub on whole wheat bread with a slice of american cheese and a bag of baked potato chips = Total Points 9

Total Points Eaten Today = 35 (I was 7 points under my points per day)
